Justice: RIP 5-1993 --- 7-2008

Justice is with us no more.

After 15 wonderful years my Brittany Spaniel Justice had to be put down today. He had bad arthritis in his hips and could no longer control his bladder or bowels. His hearing was gone and eyesight was pretty bad as well. I think if dogs can get senile he was that too. He was a good dog who gave the whole family a lot of pleasure with his easy going disposition and friendly ways. He wasn't much of a hunter due to lack of training, but until the last year or so was a high energy companion for me and my wife and kids. I'll miss him very much but I know he is at peace now. Just wanted to let my friends here in cyberspace be aware so they can send a prayer out for his well being from now on. Thanks. PMPM

ps: You can check his picture out on the Produceman pet pics on the old space here. Take care. PMPM

D.T.Q. been 4 months

Hey all!!  Just thought I'd check in with a crazy dream from last night. You see, I was on this mission to Mars and when we landed the Martians shot the two other crewmen that were with me....luckily I was invisible so they didn't shoot me. I managed to get to a wharehouse full of spare spaceship parts and with the help of a friendly Martian mechanic was able to make a spaceship and escape and return to Earth to a hero's welcome. I'm not sure if I was still invisible or not.....not that it mattered.

Most everything is good. Busy at work and the Mustang is almost done. Best to all..and take care. PMPM

D.T.Q. ??????????

I know its been a long time since I posted an entry, but its busy at work and I don't get the time to really write anything but I wanted to say hey to everyone just to let you know I'm still kicking. I've been checking out my friends and favorites as time allows. I haven't been leaving too many comments for the same reasons for not posting...but its good to see most are still there.
I've managed to not go back to smoking even though I do have one once in a while. I know its not smart but sometimes its too much to resist....especially here in the chaos of the biz. I don't think I'm going back full time as long as I don't get too stressed. We'll see what happens. I know you'll keep supporting me either way.Well I've got to get back to the grind now. Take care!!  PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 87

Today the online help said that I have quit smoking....I'm still just going to say that I'm not smoking today...since all there is...is today. That's how I look at it anyway...an ongoing thing. Still feels pretty good and its not too hard to do anymore. Thanks for all the help out there in cyberland.
At work the Jersey deal is starting to get going. We have Curly and Plain Parsley, Dandelion, Cilantro, Arrugula, and Spinach being harvested now in our area. Radishes should start this week and probably Asparagus later in the week. So all in all its starting to get busier out of here, with the Florida deal winding up soon it is time for our area to start rolling. It should be fun!!!
Well that's it for now...I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Take care! PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 78

I've been missing for a couple of days....I got what Mrs. Pm had, and believe me, it was no fun. I don't remember the last time I missed work from being sick, but this took 2 days to get over. But I'm back today and feeling about 80% better. Maybe I'm getting older and just can't take it like before. Anyway the urge to smoke disappeared for those two days, that's for sure. Well I've got a lot of catching up to do here so I better get to work. See you all soon. Take care. PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 75

Monday, Monday,....just another day... on the road to non-smoking. The weekend was pretty good.. got through it  allright. Yesterday I got a few things done in the yard, Spring cleanup time, you know. Didn't over do it though, just enough to say I did something. No wierd dreams, the reality of Mrs. PM waking me up around midnight telling me she was going to passout was enough excitement for me. Luckily she remained awake and managed to make it to the bathroom in time to get sick in the toilet and not the bedroom. Seems to have come down with one of those nasty intestinal viruses that are going around. Hopefully she will be back to normal in a couple of days. She had a bad night though.
This is a funny time of the year. Everyone around here has that "can't wait to get strarted ailment" which leads to bad decisions and sales of product we don't have yet...which leads to yelling and bad communication which leads to bad decisions which leads to...you get the picture. With Easter being so early it seems like it should be the middle of April, rather then the end of March. Hopefully everyone will calm down in 2 to 3 weeks and we can get the deal going. We'll see.
I hope everyone has a good week and I'll check in soon. Take care!  PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 71

Not much to report on the smoking or dreaming front. The non-smoking is going well, and the dreams last night were nothing to write about. Only thing I remember is that I was in the next  town over...somehow got lost... and no one there knew how to tell me how to get back to my hometown. This might mean I think the people in the next town over are not the sharpest knives in the drawer...subconsciously of course..or maybe not.
But anyway I thought I'd let everyone know that most of the Spring crop is seeded and planted and in about six weeks Jersey will be harvesting beautiful Greens, Radishes, Beets, and Herbs..such as Arrugula,Dill,Cilantro,Mint, etc. So ask at your favorite supermarket for "Jersey Fresh" and you'll get the best!!! About two weeks after that we will have Romaine, Green and Red Leaf, Bibb, and Boston lettuce. After this you might not be seeing as much of me here in Blogsville as the work will get much more intense and leave less time to write...but I'll try to keep up with it as best I can.
That's it for now and I'll be back soon. PMPM
PS: I did make it up to Mrs.PM for the shot to the ribs the other night by taking her out to dinner an extra timethis week. She really wasn't too upset about it though!
March 26

D.T.Q. Day 70

Well today is another sort of milestone day in my journey to non-smoking status...day 70 on Chantix.  Its not going too bad really. I did get the third month presciption filled and will continue to take it daily...even though sometimes I forget to take it and don't slip up without it. I think it really did help with cravings...any other time I tried to quit it was just too much to handle...so that's a good thing.
Last night was a strange dream night..first one involved me driving down the road in town when a friend tried to take control of the car and run it through a redlight...as I struggled to regain control I lashed out and caught Mrs. PM with a left hook... to the ribs...in bed..not in my dream! She didn't appreciate it at all. Then when I managed to get back to sleep I dreamt I was with a couple of other friends and we had this huge outdoor model train set running in the yard of my Grandmother...who by the way has been gone for at least 25 years...anyway, the train was running well untill we decide to change the track layout a little bit...when we restarted the train it ran too fast and had bad accident in several spots along the route. There was fire and great damage which required the emergency and fire crews to attend to....thankfully no one was hurt, but the cleanup took quite a long time. I was put in charge of rebuilding a wooden bridge...It was very difficult and I had to enlist some help with the job....I woke up as we were figuring out how to get it done. Somehow I think the 2 Esspressos while watching The Flyers beat the stinkin' NY Rangers might have stimulated my dream center!! Could mean that the Flyers have to struggle to control their own destiny and that the rest of the season could be a train wreck if they think to far ahead of themselves. One thing for sure...Mrs.PM...will make sure she protects herself at all times while sleeping during the playoff run!!!!
That's all for now. Everyone have a good one and I'll be back soon. Take care!  PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 64

As we approach the Easter holidays its time to reflect on the renewal of life each Spring. I feel I have made a change for the better by working on becoming a nonsmoker, so in a sense it is a renewal for me. I always love to watch the earth come alive each Spring as the temperatures rise and the showers  bring forth the life which has been dormant all Winter. Its easy to see how early man would be glad to see the rebirth each Spring and would try to keep the gods happy in whatever way they saw fit. I hope everyone can take a moment this Spring and try to see the fragile beauty that our earth provides and appreciate it and not take it for granted. I know in the fast paced world we live in its hard to do, but life is so short not to try, because before we know it we won't be here to enjoy it at all. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter, Passover or whatever Spring holiday you celebrate and that you can take some time to really enjoy that which is around you. PMPM
March 19

D.T.Q. Day 63

Today is one of those days that make me feel pretty sure I have become a non-smoker.... if it could go wrong it did...and no smokes.  Trucks late arriving..late delivering to our customers...angry people on the phones...mad truckers..some bad product coming in that has to be repacked before we ship it...and the list goes on. But though it all I haven't smoked. I feel good about that! I'm thinking about keeping a bottle of Grey Goose in my desk though!!  For medicinal purposes only, of course...not! PMPM
March 17

D.T.Q Day 61

I've gone over the 60 day total for not smoking. I figure that's 2 months..maybe I should start counting by months now!! Yeah, I think I will!!!  Why not, it seems more normal not to smoke now. I feel that I don't have to post everyday now because its not unusual to not smoke. You know, like its not a big deal anymore.
I hope everyone has a happy ST. Patrick's day today. Don't drink too much green beer or Guiness!! I'll be taking it easy on that....don't need the extra calories! Maybe I'll have a corned beef sandwich for lunch to celebrate...or maybe a Reuben! Doesn't that sound Irish!!
I'll check in soon with smoking and produce updates from now on through Spring since I'm back in the habit. Take care all!! PMPM

Changes

I went in to my space today to make a few changes on it. It took a while since everytime I made a change it told me that spaces was down for upgrades or something. Anyway, I have a fewmore to do but let me know what you think so far. Thanks....I'll check in tomorrow with a smoking update. PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 56

Haven't been posting for a few days. Haven't had much to write about. Just plugging along, enjoying M's stay. He's been substituting at the local schools as an classroom aide for a few extra bucks. Its cool to watch him mature before our eyes. Smoking front has been ok. Seem to be getting used to not smoking. Also encouraging is the online help figures I've saved around $300.00 by not buying the things. That's really cool!!
Dreams wise last night I was at a big country fair or convention or Nascar race where a deceased trucker I knew was the keyote speaker. He recognized me from the podium and said some nice things. Then I met up with another deceased friend and we went to do some shopping for the ride home. As I was picking out a soda and some chips he hooked up with the girl working there so I talked to her mom while I waited for them. I don't know why I keep dreaming about dead folks.....I hope I won't be joining them soon!! Whatever, maybe it had something to do with the fact I went to my Great-Aunt's funeral yesterday and that was on my mind. Anyhow, that's it for now...take care and I'll check back soon. PMPM
March 08

D.T.Q. Day 52

Another couple of days gone by and still going. After yesterday's adventure I think I'm going to make it! Had to pick up M at the Philly airport for Spring break. No big deal..1 hour up...pick up M...stop and eat...come on home. Not quite.  Went like this. 1 hour up ... wait for plane..no plane...check board...status 4:40 arrival gate whatever...now 5:20...no plane...start to worry...check status...no change...call M on cell phone... no answer..continue to worry...finally M calls..plane has landed in Allentown...don't know when plane will continue to Philly,if at all...leave for Allentown in middle of rush hour traffic..get big headache driving through rain and heavy traffic...finally arrive in Allentown airport 7:30... get M...get something to eat...drive home... arrive 11:00 pm.  All this time smoke no cigarettes!!  I'm getting there because in the old smoking days I would have had at least six or seven during this saga. So this is a good test.
Anyway today looks to be not too busy so hopefully we will get done early and I can get home before dark. Have to spring forward tonight and lose that hour of sleep so I want to get some rest this afternoon! Have a good weekend and I'll check back soon. PMPM
March 06

D.T.Q. Day 50

This is a milestone day... 50 days since I began taking Chantix to stop smoking!!!  I know I started out blogging again to record what I'd heard were going to be strange or vivid dreams, and I really haven't had that many to report, but it has helped me stay focused on not smoking. That's a good thing. Also I'm glad to get back in contact with some folks from a couple of years ago in the blogishere..(is that a word?). Anyway I want to thank those who have stopped by to offer their encouragement..you've been a big help. Now I'll shoot for the 100 day mark!
My cold is a little better today..only feel like my head is 1 1/2 its normal size and my throat isn't too painful. I think the worst is over and I'll be feeling a little better each day. I'm happy that Daylight Savings time is starting this weekend..I'll be able to get some yardwork done after work next week before it gets crazy busy. That reminds me, my son M will be home for Spring Break next week, maybe I can get him to do some digging for a project I have planned!!!  I'll have to think of a proper incentive...like a tank of gas for his car!  That costs about $60.00 around here. I just hope the weather co-operates and is mild and dry enough to work outside then. Time will tell.
I've got to go now and do some selling...got to try to line up some biz for next month when the Jersey deal gets rolling. Take care and I'll be back!  PMPM
March 05

D.T.Q. Day 49

Another day in the books without smoking. The fact that I have a little head cold helps...don't really feel like smoking anyway. Not much else going on. Its slow at work so not too much stress. Just plugging along taking things as they come.
Most dreams continue to be related to the work site...past, present and maybe future. Its interesting when I dream about people who have passed away. I try to figure if they're trying to tell me something helpful or if its just my memories of them coming out in the nightly reorganization of my brain. For what's in my brain it could probably do it once a month!!!! Anyway I'm going to sign off for now. Take care and I'll be back soon! PMPM
March 04

D.T.Q. Day 48

My first day back at work wasn't too bad... no stress and no uncontrolable urges to smoke. Actually, the urges to smoke are easy to control now. I just think about something else and before I know it  an hour or two has gone by. Seem to be getting the hang of being a non-smoker...but I'm not letting my guard down...it would be soooo easy to give in and go back to the habit. When I think of all the cigarettes I used to smoke it makes me wonder why I did it and what was I thinking. I guess an addict doesn't ask those questions until they have broken the habit...or at least tried. I'm going to keep going, even if I have to try one once in awhile just to see how bad they are!!
Dreaming hasn't been all that crazy. It seems though that whatever dream I have gets repeated over and over on any particular night while I try to get to the end of it. Like I'll be trying to come to a decision on something in my dream and it will just go back to a point earlier in the dream and start over. Anybody have any dreams like that? I figure its the Chantix talking in my sleep!
Anyway I better try to sell some produce here this morning and get back in the groove. The growers around here have started seeding and planting for the Spring harvest so I'd better be ready to go. Six weeks from now we will have local produce and the yearly grind will begin. Take care for now and I'll be back soon. PMPM

D.T.Q. Day 47

Hi there! I'm back from vacation and still not smoking. OK, I did try a couple while I was off just to see what it would be like, don't think I'll be going back to smoking any time soon.....yeachhhhhkk!
I had a good time on my vacation. Spent a long weekend in Boston,MA and Nashua,NH visiting two of my sons. They are doing well and it was good to see them. Then for the rest of the time I got a lot of things done around the house and in town. Stuff I can't get to when I'm working. Plus me and Mrs.PM took a few day trips and did some things that we both enjoyed. All in all it was a good couple of weeks off and I'm rested, relaxed, and ready to get back to work. Well, rested and relaxed anyway!! I'll check in again tomorrow and hope all is well with everyone. Take care!!  PMPM
February 15

D.T.Q. Day 31

Today is probably my last post for a couple of weeks or so. I start my vacation later this afternoon and might not be able to figure out how to access my space from my home computer. Who remembers  saved passwords after a couple of years? We'll see what happens.  Anyway , another day down in the non-smoking corner. Checking in with these posts has helped keep me focused on it. The vacation should be interesting in many respects. I'll let you know how it goes. Have a great time while I'm away and I'll check in when I return, sooner if I can get on. Take care! PMPM
February 14

D.T.Q. Day 30

30 days on Chantix. 22 days without smoking. That sounds pretty good, at least the not smoking part. I wonder sometimes if I'm just substituting one drug for another and that when I get off the Chantix if I'll be able to stay off the smokes. Time will tell.
Had some cool dreams last night which I can't remember now. Since I overslept a little and jumped out of bed to get ready for work they slipped from my memory. All I can remember is that it had something to do with my old bowling ball and a picnic. Strange but true. I'm really ready for my vacation to start tomorrow. Work is getting old. I know it will only take two hours back at work when its over to lose the effects, but it will be worth it! That's all for now, be back tomorrow. Have a good one and take care! PMPM
